I am both a scientist and a communicator: writer, photographer, and broadcaster. I don't believe in limiting myself to one medium to convey my ideas. It's not that big a deal to master the technology; I use the medium that best suits my story.
I am author or co-author of four published books (and there are more coming!) and my articles and stories have been published in quality magazines and newspapers around the world.
My photographs have appeared in magazines around the world and in four solo shows in Canada and Europe.
My radio documentaries have played on CBC Radio (Canada) and internationally.

Where is Jacqueline right now?
Spring is here! Mostly, I'm hanging out close to home, here on Vancouver Island.
After a great winter book tour for Hai Kur Mamashu Chis (events in: San Francisco, New York, Los Angeles, Toronto, Regina, Calgary and Vancouver) I'm finishing off the tour with a few events in April, closer to my home in the Pacific Northwest: Nanaimo, Port Alberni, Tofino and Seattle.
I'm working on two more books, aiming for publication of both in the fall (more news about them to come here soon!) And I'm getting out on the trails, training for two 50k ultramarathons - one in May and one in August (and running Ucluelet's Edge to Edge Marathon between, in June).
What's new?
The current task is finishing up my next book, My Secret Sasquatch (and other possibilities). This is a very fun book for me - a collection of stories that slide around in that zone between fact and fiction, all set on the wild west coast of Vancouver Island. I've been working on the essays and stories that make up this collection for years now, and am looking forward to pulling it all together for publication in fall, 2014.
